The Summer School focuses on Systems Biology, combining biology, mathematics, computer science, and engineering to study complex biological systems. Participants will explore both theoretical and practical approaches, including multi-omics analysis and biological network simulations, to integrate various biological data and gain a comprehensive understanding of biological processes. Topics such as genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics will be covered.

Objective

The course is designed for PhD students and young researchers with the goal of providing a solid theoretical and practical foundation in Systems Biology. Through an interdisciplinary approach, participants will develop skills in using bioinformatics tools for the analysis of complex biological data, essential for studying large-scale biological systems. A key aspect of the course will be the development of interpretation and modeling skills for biological systems, enabling participants to integrate different data sources to gain a deeper understanding of biological processes. Finally, the program aims to foster interaction between young researchers and experienced scientists in the field, creating an environment for discussion and collaboration that encourages new ideas and innovative research approaches.

Program

The course will be in English for a total of 45 hours: including lectures and practical sessions

Participants will be guided by a team of expert tutors, including:
Haja Kadarmideen (MAMO), Francesca Cordero (University of Turin), Alberto Riva (Human Technopole), Giulia Scotti (Human Technopole), Sara Terzoli (Human Technopole), Denis Laloe (INRAE), Luigi Lucini (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), Alessandra Stella (IBBA-Cnr), John Williams (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), Filippo Biscarini (IBBA-Cnr), Tania Bobbo (IBBA-Cnr), and Edoardo Puglisi (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore).
This expert faculty ensures a comprehensive learning experience, balancing theoretical foundations with hands-on applications in Systems Biology.
